PETER G RAY @ FIRST CANADIAN PLACE GALLERY
September 2 - October 31, 2014

Hyper-illusion is Montreal artist Peter G. Ray's signature style of painting. He hungers to unite extremes; Precision and free improvisation, the intensely graphic and beautifully painted, exquisite refinement of detail and pictorial force. The sense of liquid movement of paint depicting spheres and ambiguous shapes are barely contained within the large canvasses in this exhibition.

De luca fine art is pleased to present the work of Sab Meynert at The Spoke Club in Toronto.

MELISSA DOHERTY @ THE SPOKE CLUB
April 1 - May 31, 2014

De luca fine art is pleased to present the work of Melissa Doherty at The Spoke Club in Toronto. Layering paint to the extent that individual brush marks disappear, Doherty creates lush sensual surfaces, with a terrific sense of depth. Her super real aerial and close-up paintings depict single trees, as well as the urban forest, from a scopic yet intimate and introspective point of view. Doherty's method of depicting contemporary topography permits viewers new readings of landscape metaphors shifting the grand landscape tradition from the sublime toward notions of the embodiment.

LORI-ANN BELISSIMO @ THE SPOKE CLUB
April 1 - May 31, 2014

De luca fine art is pleased to present the work of Lori-Ann Bellissimo at The Spoke Club in Toronto. Lori-Ann pitches colour against depth in her paintings. Through a gradual process of using acrylic and mixed media trapped under individual layers of optically clear water-based resin; a final layer of resin seals each painting's surface. This technique explores the paradox of spatial depth on a flat surface as the apparent shifting of colour and form within the painting gauges perspective.

BESPOKE: DLFA @ THE SPOKE CLUB
December 2 - February 28, 2014

De luce fine art is pleased to present the work of Gloria Vanderbilt and Viktor Mitic at The Spoke Club in Toronto.

Often described as a renaissance woman, Gloria Vanderbilt's paintings at the Spoke, explore the narrative relationship between dreams and reality...

Acerbic and witty, Viktor Mitic’s art lays waste to the pop-culture symbols it repurposes. Brad Pitt, Marilyn Munroe, Ronald McDonald, each is riddled with bullet-holes and has its identity stolen. No icon is left undisturbed...
